This report has been produced by Quantified Carbon (QC) on commission from the Danish Nuclear Alliance. The analytical framework, scenario design, modelling, and conclusions presented in this work are the authors’. The study is published in two versions.
Beside the two reports, this site has two parts: the Story, which follows the report, and Explore, which goes beyond it.

Story
The report’s results, told chapter by chapter. It starts from the question and the scenarios, then the summary table, with one chapter for each group of parameters: self-sufficiency, competitiveness, environment and climate, and grid and operational safety. Each chapter uses the report’s own figures and text, links to the page it comes from, and can show three or all seven scenarios.
Explore
Tools that go beyond the report, without re-running the model:
- Technology costs: pick your own cost level for each technology and see the system costs and profitability gap change.
- PyPSA and cGrid compared: the study’s main model checked against a second, open-source model, as the report shows it.
- Model inputs and Model results: the open PyPSA model value by value and hour by hour, with every input traced to the repository.
